The CLARDI hybrid UAV system was developed by RotoJet Hungary Kft., specifically tailored for the Chinese market. The project aimed to deliver a versatile VTOL drone platform capable of handling complex operational tasks, combining lightweight construction with structural reliability. The focus was on designing and manufacturing high-performance composite components to ensure optimal strength, stiffness, and aerodynamic efficiency.
The development process started with detailed structural and aerodynamic design studies, optimizing the UAV for stability, endurance, and payload capacity. A modular approach allowed the system to adapt to a variety of missions, including surveillance, inspection, and logistics operations. Each design iteration incorporated performance feedback and compliance with relevant aviation regulations in China, ensuring a mission-ready platform.
All composite components were produced using aerospace-grade pre-preg materials, with hand-laid laminates and precise fiber orientations. Vacuum-bagging and controlled curing processes were applied to maximize structural integrity and consistency. The finished components were integrated into the UAV system, resulting in a lightweight, robust, and highly efficient drone optimized for the operational requirements of the Chinese market.
